About

What I Do

I finance independent film and TV productions that have already sold. By the time I commit capital, the distribution deal is signed, the primary financing is in place, and the production is insured. I am not backing a bet on whether a film will succeed — the sale is already done.

My role is to bridge the gap while the primary financing clears. These loans typically run for around eight weeks, after which the loan is repaid.

I came to this as an investor. In 2024 I started backing these deals with my own capital, then co-invested with a small group, then built the vehicles to bring the opportunity to external investors. The Executive Producer credits I hold on a number of productions (IMDB) reflect my involvement as a financier on those projects.

I am based in Jersey, Channel Islands, and am currently building a senior primary financing fund alongside the existing bridge lending activity.

The Cultured Copia

In 2024 I established The Cultured Copia, a fund that pools bridge loans across a portfolio of independent film and TV productions. Each production must have a signed distribution deal, committed primary financing, and production insurance before capital is committed. Nothing speculative enters the portfolio.

The fund has raised £7M and is currently closed to new investors, with an 18 month waiting list. The legal structure was designed by Carey Olsen, one of the leading law firms in Jersey. Governance, banking, and compliance are managed by Reckon FS.
